The Questions
The interview that Stella Hannah will do with each actor entails the following questions.
These 12 questions can usually be completed with the actor within 30 minutes.
1. When you were my age (early teens), what, if any, were your goals for the future?
2. Are you satisfied with how your acting career has evolved?
3. What are your goals for the future?
4. Was there ever a time you almost gave up acting? What caused you to stay with it and not back down?
5. How did your family help your career develop? (or friends)
6. Is there anything you wish you could go back and change to make you a more successful actor?
7. Are there one or two things you believe differentiate between those who have “made it” and those who have not?
8. Do you have any recommendations beyond acting lessons for an aspiring actor, including books or lessons? Are you still taking acting lessons?
9. Do you know anyone else who I could interview? Is there anything else you’d like to share with other aspiring actors?
10. Is there a question I didn’t ask that you think would be beneficial to young actors?
11. What’s the best advice you’ve ever been given?
12. What will it say on your tombstone?
Five additional questions (if time allows):
1. Your favorite role so far?
2. In school were you geeky/popular/jock/artsy?
3. Do you like acting on stage/film better? Why?
4. What other careers are there in “show business” someone could take up other than acting?
5. How do you deal with criticism from the public and the media?
